For the first time in many years, cyclists safety concern was mentioned in the opening speech by Assoc Prof Ho Peng Kee, urging motorists to be vigilant and mindful of the present of cyclists on the road and give them more space and cyclists to ride with proper attire, use hand signals and observe lane behaviour. Also mentioned in the speech was the Safe Cycling Clinics conducted jointly by SCTF and TP as an important tool to reach out to the community conveying safe cycling knowledge and messages.

This shows that the authorities are looking into cyclists safety issues and are keen and committed to making improvements. So let’s unite and work for a better, friendlier and safer environment for all cyclists.
